Third grade follows the My Math series by McGraw-Hill as the main resource.
My Math has online videos to launch units, technology presentations for each lesson, with interactive math tools to model and explore each standard. Each lesson begins with a 10-15 minute mini-lesson, where the skill is introduced and modeled. During this time, students and the teacher work together to use previous skills to access new topics. After the mini lesson, students typically break up into their math groups/rotations. Partner practice, independent practice, guided small group practice and technology/games are rotated throughout the week.
Here are the topics that are covered in Third Grade:
Chapter 1- Place Value
Chapter 2- Addition
Chapter 3- Subtraction
Chapter 4-Understand Multiplication
Chapter 5- Understand Division
Chapter 6- Multiplication and Division Patterns
Chapter 7- Multiplication and Divison
Chapter 8-Apply Multiplication and Divison
Chapter 9-Properties and Equations
Chapter 10-Fractions
Chapter 11-Measurement
Chapter 12-Represent and interpret data
Chapter 13- Perimeter and Area

Please see Common Core State Standards for a more in depth description of each standard we are responsible for teaching in third grade.
